Emme Wolf
Williston Figure Skating
“While my fascination with figure skating’s combination of athleticism and artistry started early in my youth, I finally got to lace up my skates and step on the ice for my first lesson at age 12. After progressing through USFSA’s Basic Skills program and falling in love with the intricacies of skill technique, I dove head-first into the world of amateur skating (and coaching younger Basic Skills students, as well). By my high school graduation, I was working on my Novice Moves in the Field, Pre-Gold Dances, and Juvenile Free Skate tests (which I hope to now continue and work to pass on my own time).
Once I left for college, I knew I wanted to continue to share my love for the skill and creativity this sport requires. I reached out and coached in East Grand Forks for two incredible seasons, adding in experience with skaters across multiple levels of ability.
Now, upon my return to Williston for year 5 of teaching high school English (and sometimes Latin), I am so excited to get back on the ice to share my love of skating through working with skaters of all levels to perfect skills, create competitive programs, and foster all forms of growth (love of skating, discipline, resilience, appreciation of what the human body is capable of) that skating offers that have so greatly formed who I am.
When I'm off the ice, I can be found snuggled up with a good book and my pup, Artie, at the gym, or watching our latest binge TV show with my husband, Jake, the smell of dinner on the Traeger and dessert in the oven wafting through our new home.”
